Personal computer tutoring

Learn your computer at your pace

One-on-one help for adults who want patient explanations, practical practice, and the confidence to do more on their own.

Built around you

You don't have to keep up with a class

Personal tutoring means the session can stay on one topic until it makes sense, skip things you already know, and focus on the exact tasks you want to accomplish.

Paul's teaching approach grew out of his own frustration with instructors who moved too quickly. The goal is to make computer use understandable, not to overwhelm you with terminology.

What can you learn?

What a session is like

Practical instruction instead of a lecture

  1. Start with your goal.Explain what you want to learn or what has been confusing you.
  2. See it demonstrated.Paul walks through the task clearly and explains what is happening.
  3. Try it yourself. You repeat the steps while Paul watches, answers questions, and corrects problems.
  4. Keep a reference. When useful, written step-by-step instructions can help you repeat the process after the session.

Common questions

Before your tutoring session

Do I need to know exactly what lesson to book?

No. Bring a list of what you want to learn or what has been frustrating you. A session can be adapted as you go.

Is tutoring only for complete beginners?

No. Some people need the basics, while others already use a computer every day and want help with a specific program or task.

Can I take notes during the lesson?

Absolutely. Paul can also provide written step-by-step instructions when that would make it easier to repeat the process later.

Can you teach both Windows and Mac users?

Remote and in-person sessions may be available for Windows or macOS depending on the topic. Contact Paul if you want to confirm a specific program or task before booking.
