Computer help & troubleshooting

When the computer isn't doing what you need it to do

Get practical help with setup, software, printers, email, files, backups, internet problems, and the everyday computer issues that are hard to untangle alone.

No diagnosis required

You can describe the problem in plain English

You do not need to know whether the cause is Windows, the printer driver, the network, the browser, the software, or something else. Tell Paul what you expected to happen and what actually happened.

Some problems can be fixed remotely. Others make more sense as an in-home appointment. If you're unsure which to choose, contact Paul before booking.

How the appointment works

Solve the problem without making the explanation harder than the problem

  1. Explain what is happening. What were you trying to do? What changed? What message or behavior are you seeing?
  2. Work through likely causes.Paul checks the relevant settings, software, devices, or connections methodically.
  3. Fix or configure what can be resolved. The goal is a working system, not merely a technical diagnosis.
  4. Understand what matters next.If there are follow-up steps or habits that can prevent the problem from returning, Paul explains them clearly.

Computer help questions

What if I don't know what is causing the problem?

That's normal. Describe the symptoms and what you were trying to do. Troubleshooting the cause is part of the appointment.

How do I know whether to book in-home or remote help?

Software, email, settings, files, and many Windows issues can often be handled remotely. Hardware connections, local devices, printers, or home-network issues may be better in person. Contact Paul if you're unsure.

Can you help set up a brand-new computer?

Yes. New computer setup can include software, email, printers, preferences, file transfer, organization, and helping you learn where things are on the new system.

Should I send passwords through the contact form?

No. Never send passwords, account numbers, or other sensitive credentials through the website contact form.

Need help now?

Book a session or tell Paul what's going wrong.
